Neal Jepson, a graduate of Bournemouth College, who works at London members’ club Boodles has won the League of Club Chefs’ chefs competition.

Held every two years, the competition showcases chef talent at private members’ clubs.

Jepson, who has been at Boodles for more than three years and did his college placement there, wins a £500 cheque and a silver trophy to be held at Boodles in St James Street for the next two years.

The young chef’s dish was papillote of Cornish red mullet combined with a mystery box of ingredients including seasonal vegetables and Elwyn lamb.

Competitors had 15 minutes to plan their dishes and an hour and a half to produce it.
