Nick Jones sells Balham Kitchen & Bar
Nick Jones, the chief executive of Soho House Group, has sold the Balham Kitchen & Bar in south west London to Sam Harrison, owner of Sam's Brasserie & Bar in Chiswick.
The site, which opened in 2003, will close at midnight on Saturday and will re-open in September under the name Harrison's.
Jones said Soho House Group is now concentrating on larger projects, both in London and overseas, that have multi-faceted food, drink, club and hotel facilities.
"A single, standalone restaurant doesn't fit our mix right now, so it is better for a young entrepreneur like Sam to develop this neighbourhood restaurant," he said.
Harrison said the move to Balham, first revealed in Caterer, was a natural progression for his operation.
The same investment partners, including Rick Stein and Rebecca Mascarenhas, who supported Harrison at Sam's Brasserie, will be involved in the Balham business.
The 80-seat restaurant site also features a bar for up to 50, a private dining room on the lower level for up to 20, and pavement access for up to a dozen.
