Gordon Ramsay is planning to buy the Devonshire House pub in Chiswick, Caterer has learnt.

The chef and restaurant proprietor, who opened a pub in east London earlier this year and has another about to open in the north of the capital, is poised to make a bid on the west London gastropub, sources have said.

A spokeswoman for Gordon Ramsay Holdings said the company would not comment on any deal until it has been signed.

Ramsay paid an estimated £5.2m for the freehold of the Warrington Hotel in Maida Vale, which is to re-open shortly.

His first venture, the Narrow Street Kitchen and Dining Room in London’s Limehouse, opened in March to largely positive reviews.
