New owners for 'Top 10' seaside hotel in Yorkshire

(26 July 2007 14:33)

Yorkshire’s Downcliffe House hotel – one of the Independent newspaper’s Top 10 seaside hotels – has been sold.

The detached property – which has a prime seafront position in Filey, North Yorkshire - offers 12 en-suite bedrooms, a public bar and residents’ lounge, a 60-seat restaurant, and one-bedroom owners’ accommodation.

Outside there is a private garden to the rear and a front patio with seating.

It has been bought by former female member of staff and her partner.

The Leeds office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off an asking price of £920,000.
