Kieron Perry and Jo Rowlands from Inverness are the new owners of the four-star Pennyghael hotel on the Isle of Mull.

The hotel has been created from a traditional West Highland farmhouse, with the main parts of the building dating back to the 18th century.

It is sited in the tiny village of Pennyghael on Loch Scridain and commands views of Ben More – the island’s largest hill – and Iona, the birthplace of Western Christianity.

Renowned for its homely hospitality and good food, the hotel offers six en-suite bedrooms, three self-catering cottages (two with two bedrooms and the third with three), a dining area, bar and residents’ sitting room.

The Glasgow office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a £450,000 guide price on behalf of Norman and Jane Latimer while Christie Finance provided the funding.
