Trusham's grade II-listed Cridford Inn – believed to be one of the oldest dwellings in Devon – has been bought by the former owners of Torquay’s Vanilla Pod restaurant.

Located in Dartmoor National Park within the Teign Valley, the inn was once a Devon longhouse and reputedly dates back to 825AD.

Having served as a nunnery and a farm, it was remodelled in 1081 and is now a quintessential English country pub with a thatched roof, tiny windows (the transept window in the bar may be the oldest in Britain), rough stone walls, and slate floors.

Facilities include a four letting bedrooms, a 28-seat bar, 50-seat restaurant, and an 18-seat family room. Outside, the property offers a slated terrace with picnic tables, a car park and a private garden.
