The Manor hotel, one of Staffordshire’s busiest wedding venues, has been sold of a guide price of £1.175m.

The detached, Grade II-listed property (once an 18th century rectory) is located at the end of the high street in the historic market town of Cheadle and is close to the Alton Towers theme park.
 
The hotel provides 11 en-suite bedrooms and a bridal suite, while a detached bungalow converted from the former stables and bakery will sleep another seven guests.
 
Facilities include a 150-seat function hall, a garden dining area and residents’ bar, a 16-seat restaurant and a business lounge.

The rear garden has been specifically designed for wedding photographs with a patio to seat 24 guests and a raised pond with a fountain and bridge.

Above the second floor is two-bedroom accommodation for the owners and a single bedroom that has been used by the chef.
 
The Birmingham office of Christie + Co sold the freehold to first-time buyer Paul Wright, who has experience in the hotel trade, on behalf of Steve Foster and Paul Farrington.
