The Cleeve Hill hotel – a five-star B&B that overlooks the famous racecourse in the Gloucestershire spa town of Cheltenham – has changed hands.

The upmarket B&B is situated high on Cleeve Hill (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) where it overlooks the racecourse, commands views towards the Malvern Hills and the Welsh Mountains, and is near the Cleeve Common Golf Club

It attracts a balanced mix of tourist and business trade, including the local branches of big names such as Zurich Insurance and Capita.

The property, which is Edwardian in style, offers 10 en-suite bedrooms to sleep 19 (including one four-poster room and a suite), an L–shaped residents’ lounge with a small bar and servery, and a 14-seat conservatory breakfast room.

There is also double-bedroom accommodation for the new owners, Manfred and Jacqueline Zeilerbauer, who have spent their lives in the hotel business and most recently owned a hotel in York.
 
The Cirencester office of Colliers Robert Barry was seeking offers around £950,000 for the hotel freehold.
