The Witchery Hotel joins list of top quirky hotels
The Witchery Hotel in Edinburgh has joined Malmaison Oxford in the top 10 list of the world's quirkiest hotels, compiled by online travel community TripAdvisor.
The part medieval, part gothic hotel on Edinburgh's Royal Mile featured at number 10 on this year's list, which also saw Malmaison's Oxford site, the first UK prison to be converted to a hotel, drop one place from last year to third position.
There was also a new entry at number one. The Aurora Express in Alaska houses guests in old railway carriages, decorated in a gold rush-era style and set in the picturesque hills of Fairbanks.
