The literary works of Alistair Campbell, Piers Morgan and Jordan were the most readily discarded books in Travelodge rooms this summer, the budget hotel group revealed today.

A review of Travelodge’s "book left behinds" leaves The Blair Years, a detailed diary of Campbell’s experience as Tony Blair’s press secretary, strategist and trusted confidant, topping the charts.

In second place is ex-Mirror editor Morgan’s diary on modern celebrity life Don’t You Know Who I Am?

Jordan, aka Katie Price, has made third place with her second book A Whole New World in which she reveals all about her romance with Peter Andre.

Gordon Ramsay’s Humble Pie sneaks in at number eight.

Jason Cotta, operations director at Travelodge, said: “This review always gives us a good idea of what is going on in consumers’ minds during the summer holidays.
