Anton Edelmann quits as principal chef at Directors Table
Anton Edelmann today revealed he has quit his role as principal chef at Directors Table, the fine-dining arm of contract caterer Sodexho.
Edelmann has left to concentrate on a new restaurant venture, called Anton's, at Great Hallingbury Manor hotel in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire, which is due to open in November.
The former London Savoy hotel chef had been with Sodexho for four years and was chef patron of Allium restaurant at the Dolphin Square hotel in the capital until it closed last year as part of a redevelopment of the area.
Edelmann will continue to work with Sodexho Prestige to operate Allium restaurant at Hampton Court Flower Show despite his decision to move on.
A spokesman for the caterer said: "Anton has played a significant part in enhancing the culinary expertise of our chefs and as an excellent mentor, as helped to develop the talents of many of our chefs throughout the organization."
In an e-mail to industry colleagues, Edelman said: "I am very excited about this new adventure, which will open some time in mid-November."
