London tearoom Tea is planning to expand across the capital with more than five sites expected to open in the next year.

The company, which opened its flagship store in St Paul’s in May, plans to roll out further outlets across central London locations including Soho and Covent Garden as well as in neighbourhoods such as Notting Hill.

Tea founder Daren Spence said: “The overwhelming reception of Tea reflects the upsurge of demand for a drink that has for centuries been an intrinsic part of British heritage.”

“We are now able to respond to this demand and offer refreshing brew in a way that has until now been unavailable,” he said.

Tea offers a wide range of black, green, white, oolong, fruit and herbal teas alongside breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea menus offering pastries, sandwiches, salads and home-made soups.
