Henry Harris, co-owner of London’s Racine, has sold his equal share in the restaurant to partner Eric Garnier to join Nick Jones’s Soho House Group as chef director.

The move sees Harris join the company full-time after consulting on two of its restaurants, Chiswick’s High Road Brasserie and Notting Hill’s The Electric, for 18 months.

In his new role, he will be responsible for all of Soho Group’s dining outlets including the food and drink offering at the company’s new site, likely to be called Bed & Brasserie Soho, which is to open early next year.

Harris said: “This opportunity has come at just the right stage in my career and life and will be a great challenge.

“I love the variety of Soho House Group, with its brasseries and bars, its informality and the sense of fun that Nick Jones has brought to all of his businesses.”

Harris launched Knightsbridge-based Racine together with former Fish! operations director Garnier in 2002. He was previously executive chef at Hush and also worked at Harvey Nicholls Fifth Floor restaurant.
