Jamie Oliver company considers £20m bid for Little Chef

(21 September 2007 11:23)

TV chef Jamie Oliver’s production company is understood to be in talks over a bid for troubled roadside restaurant chain Little Chef. Fresh One Productions is reportedly weighing up whether to make a £20m offer for Little Chef and include the group in a new reality TV show.

The news comes just weeks after Gordon Ramsay was reportedly in talks to feature the chain in a new series of Kitchen Nightmares.

An” insider” told The Sun: "It's a tempting proposition for a TV company, as you're dealing with one of Britain's best-loved brands. Fresh One Productions has held talks about buying the business."

Little Chef collapsed into administration in January this year after losing up to £3m per year in sales.

Catering entrepreneurs Lawrence Wosskow and Simon Heath, which bought the group for £52m in October 2005, sold it to venture capital group RCapital for between £5m and £10m.
