Hotels in Paris achieved the highest average room rate and revenue per available room (revpar) during August of the 10 European cities listed in the monthly Europe HotStats survey from TRI Hospitality.

Revpar soared by 15.7% to €163.53 in the French capital, while room rate climbed by 6.6% to €210.29.

London came second on both counts, increasing revpar by 9.9% to €160.31 and average room rate by 9.7% to €184.27.

The biggest revpar rises, however, were seen in Moscow (up by 22.4%) and Berlin, where revpar grew by 22.3% as poor weather drew domestic visitors from the beaches.

Vienna achieved the third highest rise in revpar, boosting its performance by 17.5%.

The fullest hotels were found in Prague – where occupancy averaged 90.5% - and the emptiest in Moscow hotels, which reported an occupancy level 63.8%.
