Landmark Irish bar in London's West End is sold(25 October 2007 09:03)The landmark O’Conor Don bar and restaurant – claimed to be London’s oldest Irish bar – has been sold after 15 years’ ownership by the O’Callaghan family. The Marylebone premises, renowned for its Irish Edwardian restaurant and waitress-serviced Guinness, became Institution for West End office workers, tourists and local residents. The business comprises a basement function room, a traditional Irish bar on the ground floor, a 70-seat restaurant on the first floor, and a three-bedroom flat across the top two floors. Local entrepreneurs Gina and Oliver John have reopened it as The Conduit, a Marylebone village community pub. Intrinsic Property sold the business for a sum close to the asking price of £600,000-plus. Article continues below
