The O’Conor Don

The landmark O’Conor Don bar and restaurant – claimed to be London’s oldest Irish bar – has been sold after 15 years’ ownership by the O’Callaghan family.

The Marylebone premises, renowned for its Irish Edwardian restaurant and waitress-serviced Guinness, became Institution for West End office workers, tourists and local residents.

The business comprises a basement function room, a traditional Irish bar on the ground floor, a 70-seat restaurant on the first floor, and a three-bedroom flat across the top two floors.

Local entrepreneurs Gina and Oliver John have reopened it as The Conduit, a Marylebone village community pub.

Intrinsic Property sold the business for a sum close to the asking price of £600,000-plus.
