Managed pub operator Barracuda Group has reshuffled its senior management in a move that sees the creation of two new roles to handle the company’s growing food business.

Martyn Smith takes the role of head of catering development, having worked previously as catering development manager at the company.

Anne Sandiford becomes head of catering operations and was previously catering operations manager.

Barracuda’s human resources director Jane Biss said: “As our estate has grown, we have doubled the size of the catering department in the past 12 months.  These changes to the senior management will enable the team to be more clearly defined and operate a strategic role within the business.”

The operator has also shuffled its operations staff to handle its expansion programme, which has seen the group grow to over 200 pubs over the past seven years.

Working under operations director Graham Jones, Paul Cutsforth becomes head of operations north and Richard Stringer becomes head of operations south. Both previously held operations controllers roles with Barracuda.

Meanwhile, Ann Mills becomes head of operations brands – overseeing the Varsity and Barracuda Bar brands and group marketing manager Myles Doran becomes head of marketing.
