Bohemian freehouse in London sold for more than £1.2m(02 November 2007 13:01)The famous Bohemian-style Pineapple freehouse and restaurant in London’s Kentish Town has been sold for a sum well in excess of the £1.2m asking price. The buyers are Paul Davies and Kirk McGrath, who own the Sir Richard Steele freehouse in Belsize Park The Pineapple was saved from conversion to residential property some years ago by a campaign by local people that included Channel 4 newscaster Jon Snow. The end-of terrace property holds a large bar in three sections, which include a Bohemian-style horseshoe-shaped bar selling real ales; a 40-seat restaurant with a large coffee area to one side; and a conservatory leading to a 30-seat beer terrace outside. The second floor houses a two-bedroom manager’s flat with a lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Article continues below
