Bartlett Mitchell scoops £2.5m City contract

Bartlett Mitchell has won one of its largest and most prestigious contracts to date with a deal to cater for more than 1,000 staff at information services firm McGraw-Hill.

The contract caterer will run hospitality services and staff catering at the company's London headquarters in Canary Wharf as well as operating a staff restaurant at a smaller site in Maidenhead, Berkshire, from 1 December. The three-year contract, previously run by Charlton House, is estimated at £2.5m in turnover during the full term and employs 20 staff.

Surrey-based Bartlett Mitchell was set up in 2000 by Ian Mitchell and Wendy Bartlett and now has 55 contracts in the business and industry and education sectors.

Mitchell described the deal as a significant. "It sees us surpass the £12m turnover mark for the first time and refocuses the company by adding a prestigious City contract while retaining the basis of our success in making sure it's all fundamentally about the food," he said.

  • Sue Allen, who was regional sales manager in Aramark's South division, has joined Bartlett Mitchell as business development director.
