Simon McGuire from London has bought the Seven Stars, a thatched country pub in Bottlesford, Wiltshire.

The pub attracted 15 viewings in the first two weeks, leading to competitive bidding.

Located in the Vale of Pewsey between Marlbourgh Downs and Salisbury Plain, the Seven Stars was built as a pub with its own brew house in the 16th century.

It occupies 5.25 acres of land which embraces a stream, woodland, a lake, a rear paddock and a field with consent to park four touring caravans.

The pub can seat 90 customers across four bars and two restaurants (with 20 and 45 seats) inside and another 150 outside at the front and in rear and side beer gardens.

Six-room accommodation for the owners includes a double en-suite bedroom. 

The Cirencester office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold off a guide price of £750,000.
