JD Wetherspoon opens at Manchester's indoor ski slope

Pub operator JD Wetherspoon has opened the Castle in the Air, its pub in the Chill Factore, the £31m indoor ski slope in Manchester.

The site opens today after a £1.4m development project and will create 40 jobs in the alpine village section of the Trafford Quays site.

Pub manager Mike Dixon said: "I am looking forward to welcoming customers into the new-look pub and believe it will be a good addition to the facilities available at Chill Factore."

Other outlets at the Chill Factore include Nando's, Boost Juice Bars and Gloria Jean's Coffees.

The pub will be open from 8am until midnight on Sunday to Thursday and until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.

The interior design is based on a ski chalet and features include a fireplace, textured glass and exposed timbers.
