(28 November 2007 10:56)

Blue Apple Catering has capped a successful year with a host of contract wins valued at £1.2m-plus in turnover over the full term.

The caterer has in the past two months signed deals with building and construction firm Wates Group in Leatherhead, Surrey; software company McAfee at its base of operations in Slough, Berkshire; and magazine distributor Smiths News at new facilities in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Blue Apple will provide a mix of hospitality, staff feeding, coffee bar and vending services at the contracts, which are from three to five years in duration.

In the last six months the company has also won contracts at Olympus in Watford, Hertfordshire, and Verifone in Uxbridge, Middlesex.

Other business picked up in the past year includes motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson’s new build European headquarters in Oxford and rent a car firm Hertz’s European base in Uxbridge.

Ruston Toms, director at Blue Apple, said: “Blue Apple has developed a strong brand identity that appeals to certain business and industry clients. We find our clients want to make a statement about the type of organisation they are by providing a modern style of food and service for their people.”

Toms and Brian Allanson created Blue Apple in 1998. The company, which currently operates 40 contracts, is on course to finish the financial year ending March 2009 with annual turnover of £8m.
