Will they, won’t they? No I’m not reminiscing about the Nescafe Gold Blend couple but the Mitchells & Butlers (M&B)/shareholders/Robert Tchenguiz love triangle.

Robert has been making advances to coy boys Mitchells for some time now ever since his bid to buy the company outright last year was flatly refused.

Heartbreaking as that was, Robert is not put off so easily and M&B are in talks with him about a real estate investment trust property venture.

Personally I think he’s missing a trick with roses and a box of chocolates.
