Spanish hotel brand Barceló comes to the UK

Paramount Hotels will be rebranded as Barceló Hotels & Resorts from the New Year.

Spanish hotel group Barceló has been running the 20 UK Paramount properties for owner Dawnay Shore Hotels (DSH) since September.

Barceló is a privately owned Spanish hospitality and travel company that manages 160 properties in 14 countries.

It plans to operate a total of 40 UK hotels within the next three years.

Raúl González, CEO of Barceló said: “The introduction of the Barceló brand in the UK is part of the company’s broader strategic plans to establish its position as a global hospitality company and gain increased recognition.”

Paramount’s portfolio includes the Lygon Arms in the Cotswolds, the Imperial in Torquay and the Majestic in Harrogate.
