Francis Patton joins Cains Beer Company
Former Punch Taverns customer service director Francis Patton has joined Merseyside brewer and pub operator Cains Beer Company as a non-executive director.
Patton announced his intention to leave Punch Taverns in October stating his desire to purse new opportunities in the pub industry. He originally joined in 1999 when Punch purchased the Vanguard portfolio from Allied Domecq.
Before joining Punch he spent 12 years with Allied Domecq, starting at Joshua Tetley and latterly with Allied Domecq Inns.
Patton is also a non-executive council member of the British Institute of Innkeeping and a council member of the British Beer and Pub Association.
Cains chief executive Sudarghara Dusanj said: "This new appointment significantly strengthens the Cains board and puts the company in a strong position to fulfil its vision of becoming Britain's favourite beer company."
Cains formed in June from the merger of operator Honeycombe Leisure and brewer Robert Cain & Company, listing on the Alternative Investment Market through the reverse takeover of Honeycombe.
Dusanj said of Cains future plans: "We want to consolidate in the next couple of years. Once we have done that, we would be very interested in expanding the estate. It's a key part of our strategy to own more pubs."
