A couple who ran a paper shop in Leeds have bought the four-star Ash Grove Guest House in the Victorian spa town of Harrogate.

The property, which is part of a Central Conservation Area terrace, is immediately opposite the International Conference Centre in the North Yorkshire inland resort.

Along with six letting bedrooms to sleep 10, the guesthouse offers a 10-seat breakfast room/lounge and a front garden with a patio that overlooks the conference centre.

For the owners, there is an en-suite double-bedroom on ground floor, a single bedroom with a separate shower room on first floor, and a private garden with decking to the rear.

The Leeds office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold off a guide price of £430,000 on behalf of Tom and Janice Ferry, who are long-time friends of the buyers, Mr and Mrs Jabbal.
