Harbour & Jones gets top Compass chef

Boutique contract caterer Harbour & Jones (H&J) has poached a leading chef from Compass Group.

Kevin Schofield joins from Compass's Restaurant Associates division, where his credits include opening the prestigious Goldman Sachs and Bank of England contracts. He replaces Mark Parfait, food development director at H&J, who leaves the company tomorrow (18 January).

The appointment comes as H&J is starting its 18th contract, taking over re-insurer Catlin's staff feeding, coffee bars, an auditorium conference and banqueting and hospitality services at the London Underwriting Centre in the City. The deal, worth £1m in annual turnover, was previously held by Aramark. It comes a month after H&J won the £1m catering contract at advertising agency JWT from Restaurant Associates.

H&J is currently looking to recruit another senior chef to work alongside Schofield, with support on the compliance side from Kevin Harrison, who joined the company last September, also from Compass.
