L'Enclume sous chef John Bradshaw dies from heart attack
John Bradshaw, sous chef at Simon Rogan's Michelin-starred restaurant L'Enclume in Cartmel in the Lake District, has tragically died at the age of 32.
Bradshaw, who had been working with Rogan at L'Enclume since its inception in 2002, suffered a heart attack on the night of 16 January and died instantly.
Rogan said he and the whole team at L'Enclume were devastated about his death and will miss him desperately.
"John would have been my tip for the next big thing and as well as being a fantastic chef, he was a great person and like a brother to me," he said.
"Myself and the team will miss him greatly."
Bradshaw was born in 1975 and studied catering at High Peak College in Buxton, Derbyshire.
Before joining L'Enclume, he worked at kitchens including Fischers Restaurant at Baslow Hall and Riber Hall in Derbyshire as well as the Michelin-starred Juniper in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.
Bradshaw's funeral will take place in Cartmel on Monday (28 January) with a wake taking place at L'Enclume.
