Latest NewsAA Housekeeper of the Year unveiled(06 February 2008 16:31)The winner of the inaugural AA Housekeeper of the Year Award was announced this afternoon at the Four Seasons Hotel in London. Diane Stronach, executive housekeeper at the Four Seasons, was presented with the award at the hotel where she works in Park Lane having fought off the competition of 34 other nominees. “Housekeeping is my passion. It’s in my blood as a northerner,” she said “It’s the only thing I have ever wanted to do and still is.” Stronach’s first position after completing a BTEC National Diploma in Hotel, Catering & Institutional Operations was as housemaid at Buckingham Palace. Once there, she was soon promoted to senior housemaid to the Queen. Today, she runs an 80-strong team at the Four Seasons — almost a quarter of the entire hotel workforce. Article continues below
John Stauss, general manager of the Four Seasons Hotel London, said: “Diane is our star role model among our executive housekeepers.” The award was presented in association with supplier Northmace & Hendon.
