Compass Group education caterer Scolarest is continuing its long-term relationship with Oxford Brookes University.

The caterer has signed a three-year deal worth £11.4m in total turnover to provide catering and hospitality services to 22,000 students and staff across five campuses.

Scolarest has worked with Oxford Brookes for 15 years and was involved in the university’s successful bid to become the world’s first Fairtrade university in 2003.

Under the terms of the new deal the caterer will be introducing biodegradable packaging, increasing recycling activity and introducing Cup for Life, a scheme where customers opt for a reusable mug rather than disposable cups.

The Compass owned company will also be providing an outlet on campus where local food producers can sell their produce, as well as updating some of the catering facilities.
