Gordon Ramsay has had yet another bad week with food critics, with AA Gill and Jan Moir both feeling disappointed with the chef’s latest ventures Foxtrot Oscar and The Warrington.

The Sunday Times’ famously acerbic Gill slams Chelsea eaterie Foxtrot Oscar, labelling interiors “a bland, tacky makeover in several subtle shades of cold corpse” and describing the menu as a collection of “safe and unexciting constructions”.

Meanwhile, Jan Moir finds Ramsay’s latest pub, The Warrington in Maida Vale, lacking consistency, going from “a notch above superb” on her first visit to deflating like a “bad soufflé” on her third.

The Independent’s Tracey MacLeod, however, is impressed with what Shaun Hill and partner William Griffiths have achieved at the reopened Walnut Tree Inn near Abergavenny, praising both the food and front of house.
