Harbour & Jones wins £4.5m deal at lawyers Cameron McKenna

Contract caterer Harbour & Jones (H&J) has landed a £4.5m contract at law firm CMS Cameron McKenna, capping a phenomenal few months that has seen the company's turnover pass the £10m mark.

H&J will provide a full restaurant service to 1,000 staff at the client's Aldersgate headquarters. The three-year contract, which starts on 31 March, includes hospitality, partners' dining and management of the building's refreshment centres and pantries.

Added to recent wins at the London Underwriting Centre and marketing agency JWT, which has just gone live, the new deal means the company, founded in June 2004 by Patrick Harbour and Nathan Jones, has taken its annual turnover to £12.5m, with 20 clients.

The contract had been run by Elior, most recently under its Avenance brand, for 18 years. H&J beat a prestigious field to the job - including Charlton House, Compass Group's Restaurant Associates and Searcy, as well as Avenance.

Carol Frost, head of facilities and procurement at Cameron McKenna, said: "Having been through a lengthy and rigorous tender process, we're confident that H&J is going to bring innovation and great food to our business. We're very excited about working together in the future and are looking forward to developing both our staff restaurant and hospitality services".

Christopher Rozier, director at the Stern Consultancy, which handled the tendering process for Cameron McKenna, said: "Having worked with its current caterer for in excess of 18 years, the company was keen to experience a new and fresh approach. It was impressed by the obvious level of energy and originality demonstrated by H&J and was keen to work with a young and growing organisation."
