Nestlé Toque d'Or finalists unveiled

Five teams of catering students have booked their places in the grand final of the Nestlé Toque d'Or competition which takes place in June.

The teams of six from Carlisle College, North Warwickshire and Hinckley College, North Devon College, Glasgow Metropolitan College and South Kent College were picked from the 16 teams who took part in the heats held at Hotelympia last week.

Each team served 20 covers of a three-course menu designed to compliment the restaurant concept they created.

For the grand final, the number of diners each team must serve rises to 100.

Martin Lines, marketing director, Nestlé Professional, said: "All five teams really brought innovative menus to life through inspirational teamwork, preparation and seamless delivery.

Each stood out in terms of their professionalism and skill. They brought through incredible flavours, under the remit of healthy menus and demonstrated real partnership both front and back of house."
