The leasehold on the two-star Best Western Victoria Square hotel in Bristol’s Clifton area has been sold off a guide price of £2.5m.

The new owners, Drew Hotels, already operate the Regency hotel in Cheltenham and Speech House hotel in Coleford, Forest of Dean.

The Grade II-listed hotel, believed to date back to the 1860s, overlooks a leafy square a mile from the city centre and operates primarily on a B&B basis although some guests do take dinner.
 
Made up of two neighbouring detached properties (numbers 29 and 30), the hotel offers 41 en-suite bedrooms to sleep more than 79 guests, all with Freeview TV and wireless internet access. There is also a single en-suite bedroom for staff.

Facilities include a 50-seat bar-dining room with high ceilings and double-aspect windows and a meeting room that can hold 20 guests boardroom-style and 36 theatre-style. To the rear of the two buildings are a car park and a garden.

The Cirencester office of Colliers Robert Barry marketed the two-part leasehold, which comprises a 25-year council lease that commenced in 1999 and a 999-year lease that dates back to 1866.
