Von Essen considers legal action over planning decision
Von Essen is considering legal action after council planners said a new country park access road could pass almost adjacent to its New Park Manor hotel.
Von Essen told planners and councillors that it considered the new access road could seriously affect the tranquillity of the location, near Brockenhurst, Hampshire, where guests can pay up to £295 a night to stay.
It was stated that an outdoor hot tub at the property would in fact face almost onto the road.
But the New Forest Show Society argued successfully before Hampshire County Council that the new road was needed as on previous occasions cars trying to access the showground had become bogged down in fields.
After the decision was revealed a spokesman for the hotel said: "Von Essen Hotels is extremely disappointed with the decision and at the limited opportunity given to objectors to put their great many concerns across.
"We are currently considering whether to take this further by challenging the decision in the High Court."
