The Biolan range of high-rate, composters from Finland includes one  model - the 550-litre Biolan 550 - that will compost and recycle  kitchen waste from restaurants and canteens, eliminating the cost of  removing surplus food.

The rodent- and scavenger-proof green composter  is made from UV-stabilised frost-proof freon-free polyurethane and is  1,200mm high with a base of 880mm x 740mm.

The well-insulated container is designed to optimise the composting  process all year round, and the control of temperature, air  distribution and humidity promotes the rapid production of mature  compost.

The composter incorporates an adjustable ventilation valve, a  thermometer, and five stainless-steel air-distribution tubes. Mature  compost is removed through the lower sub-hatch.

It is delivered with  Biolan compost bedding and a two-year materials and manufacturing  faults guarantee.
