The new S-Series 1470C air-cooled remote ice machines from US maker  Manitowoc are high-volume models for front of house that are designed  to avoid the droning hum and hot exhaust that some machines pump out. 

They are 75% quieter than standard machines because the compressor and  condenser fan motor are housed in a remote unit.

Measuring a space-saving 752mm in width and 635mm in height, the  stainless-steel 1470C can produce up to 635kg of crystal-clear ice  cubes each day.

The ice-makers are designed to meet tough new US energy  regulations and incorporate Manitowoc's QuietCube system, which uses  cool vapour defrost technology to improve reliability and extend the  life of the compressor along with patented cleaning and sanitising  technology.
