Specialist pasta meals supplier Pasta King has introduced superfood quinoa as a main ingredient in a new sauce to get more vitamins into schoolkids' diets without them noticing.

Quinoa is a non-wheat seed rich in protein, calcium and iron and all nine essential amino acids but doesn't have a strong flavour, and has been teamed with a spicy Cajun sauce.

The company provides caterers with a self-contained unit where precooked pasta is refreshed at the point of sale and topped with one of the company's 34 handmade pasta sauces.

The pasta bar units are available in a variety of sizes and are provided free on loan to caterers.
