ISS Mediclean has landed a major multi-site London hospital deal worth more than £100m in turnover over the life of the contract.

The facility services contact will see ISS Mediclean provide an extensive range of services in West London at Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte & Chelsea and Charing Cross hospitals.

Services provided will range from patient catering and running staff and visitor restaurants, to portering, pest control, logistics and site cleaning.

The contract runs for five years with an option to extend a further two.

Services at the hospitals, excluding St Mary’s, were previously provided by Compass Group’s health division Medirest.

The deal was awarded by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, which was created in October 2007 with the merger of St Mary’s NHS Trust, Hammersmith NHS Trust and integrating Imperial College London Faculty of Medicine.

Simon Cox, managing director of ISS Mediclean, said: “The Trust is a world class organisation, having recently established the UK’s first Academic Health Science Centre.”

“ISS Mediclean intends to develop the soft services at these hospitals and create, along with our existing contract at St Mary’s Hospital, a Centre of Excellence for facilities services in the NHS.”
