Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises (S&NPE) has bought 30 tenanted and leased pubs from Tadcaster Pub Company for an undisclosed sum.

The portfolio of pubs contains sites predominantly in South Yorkshire and Humberside with 10 sites, previously part of  Tadcaster Hotels & Inns, containing rooms.

The sale of the 30 sites, with property agents Christie & Co acting on Tadcaster’s behalf, leaves North Yorkshire-based company with an estate of 36 pubs and hotels.

Jim Walsh, chairman of Tadcaster Pub Company, said: “This was an important opportunity for our business to take advantage of the changing market over the next few years.

“We continue to have a keen appetite to expand both the pub and hotel sides of our business.”

Noel Moffitt, director at Christie & Co, said: “We are delighted to have acted on behalf of Tadcaster on the disposal of this package, which will further enhance S&NPE’s estate in the North.”
