Radisson Edwardian in TV exposé

Radisson Edwardian will feature in a TV programme tonight that alleges shocking hygiene practices and sub-standard staff training at the hotel group.

Tonight's undercover investigation follows an undercover cleaner and is purported to show guests being left to sleep on unchanged, dirty bedcovers and pillows and drink out of glasses cleaned with the same sponge used to wipe the toilet.

Radisson Edwardian has 13 hotels and was founded in 1977 by Jasminder Singh.

Radisson Edwardian would not comment ahead of broadcast but it is quoted on Tonight's website admitting to being "appalled" and "shocked" by the findings.

In the same response Radisson Edwardian attributes the poor hygiene and cleaning practices to a breakdown in training and supervision and individual employees "disregarding codes of practice".

It added that it had instituted a "comprehensive review" of cleaning and hygiene practices since to ensure that all rooms were "prepared to the highest possible standard".
