Albert Roux signs deal with luxury Leeds hotel
Albert Roux, the legendary restaurateur, has agreed a deal with Leeds-based luxury boutique hotel The Ellington to collaborate on its menu and oversee the training of chefs.
Three-time Catey winner Roux will work at the Pantin Hotels group-owned hotel, which opens in August, to create its menu, as well as host a series of culinary weekends
He will also oversee its senior chefs' training, which will include them spending time with his team at Le Gavroche in London, the first UK restaurant to win three Michelin stars.
Roux said he would be using fine produce as a basis for the menu, adding that he was "delighted" to be working with the Ellington in order to bring "Classic Modern Cuisine" to Leeds.
Pantin Hotels was founded in 2006 by David Pantin, former managing director of Rocco Forte Hotels and chairman of Dawnay Shore Hotels. He said that "customers will have the opportunity to experience the world class inspiration of a legendary chef".
