Hilton Hotels signs Doubletree deal for Scotland
Hilton Hotels has signed a management agreement that will see its Doubletree brand introduced into Scotland.
The 206-room Dunblane Hydro Hotel will be owned by property fund The Ability Group and will receive a multi-million upgrade before becoming a Doubletree in 2010.
The Dunblane Hydro is located in the Perthshire countryside, 45 minutes from Edinburgh and Glasgow and has conference and meeting space as well as leisure facilities.
The announcement follows the debut of the first Doubletree hotel outside the Americas, Cambridge Garden House, in April, which Ability owns.
Hilton currently has 11 hotels across Scotland, including in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dunkeld and Aberdeen.
It also plans to build a new £18m, 175-bedroom Garden Inn at Aberdeen Airport.
The Doubletree brand currently has more than 45,000 rooms in nearly 200 locations throughout the Americas.
