Chef Peter Gladwin sells London restaurant

Chef Peter Gladwin has sold his 90-seat Just Gladwins restaurant in the City of London.

The sale comes more than a year after Gladwin put the restaurant on the market to focus on his catering company, Party Ingredients, and his Just St James and Just Oriental restaurants in the West End.

He sold the lease on his Just The Bridge restaurant to Christian Butler last summer for £200,000.

The new owner of Just Gladwin is French chef Jean Paul Maurel.

Maurel currently operates Bel Canto in Paris, a restaurant where the waiting staff consists of opera singers who serenade the guests.

The Frenchman plans to launch the concept in the UK with the Minster Court restaurant being the first of a proposed chain.

The London office of Christie & Co sold the leasehold for an undisclosed sum.
