Jason Atherton's new restaurant Maze Grill met with disappointment

Jason Atherton's new restaurant Maze Grill has been met with disappointment by Time Out's food critic Guy Dimond, who branded the Gordon Ramsay Holdings-owned restaurant as "hit-and-miss".

Dimond said that while the service at the eatery at London's Marriott Grosvenor Square was "charming" the overall experience was "expensive and disappointing".

Meanwhile, both the Evening Standard's Fay Maschler and Bloomberg's Richard Vines are impressed with former Caprice Holdings chef director Mark Hix's new solo venture Hix Oyster & Chop House in London's Smithfield.

The London Metro's Marina O'Loughlin finds the pizza at Franco Manca "little short of spectacular".
