Debrah Dhugga, the chief executive of Tom's Companies, has revealed plans to leave the spa and restaurant group next month.

In March, Dhugga insisted that industry rumours surrounding her departure were premature but she has now confirmed to Caterersearch that she is leaving on the 26 June after three-and-a-half years.

She joined as managing director in 2004, after working as a director at Malmaison Hotels. Her move follows the sale of Seaham Hall and the Samling Hotel to Von Essen.

Dhugga said she planned to take some time out this summer with her family, but is yet to make a decision regarding her next position.

"I'm quite excited to be leaving the company and feel that I'm leaving while it's at the top of the premier division," she said.

"But as I'm a hotelier and Tom's Company deals with spas and restaurants I want to move back into the hotel industry. I've a couple of options on the table for my next move, which is great but for the time being I just want to recharge."

Tom Maxfield, the owner of Tom's Companies, will take over the running of the company, Duggah added.
