London private members' club extends next door

The London private members club which counts Madonna as a member has started building work to extend its premises next door.

Home House in Mayfair, owned by Bespoke Hotels, is adding two rooms to the existing 15 as well as conference facilities.

The group, which obtained planning permission to extend its premises into the adjacent building in 2006, expects to complete the work in September.

In a separate development, general manager Caroline King has revealed that she is leaving Home House to join the hotel investment firm Guest Hotels as director of hotel operations.

King, who starts on 9 June, said she was "sad" to leave Home House but is looking forward to her new challenge as it "fits her experience in hotels and clubs perfectly".

Andrew Richardson, who previously worked as regional manager across the Bespoke Group, will now take over the management of Home House.

The club, which is owned by Robin Shepherd along with two other financial property investors, is now looking to expand its membership from 2,500 members to 4,000
