Experienced operators Lynn and John Bowen are the new owners of the Merry Harriers, a traditional country freehouse in the Devonshire hamlet of Westcott.

Westcott lies close to the M5 on the B3181 Exeter to Cullompton road.

The semi-detached business offers a 24-seat bar, a 28-seat dining room, and a skittle alley/function room with 25 more seats. The first floor is given over to private accommodation that includes five bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Outdoors facilities include two trade gardens, a small paddock and a 25-bay car park
 
Food accounts for 60% of the Merry Harriers’ business.

Stonesmith of Exeter sold the freehold off a guide price of £645,000 on behalf of Annabel and Simon McCabe within seven days of receiving instructions to sell

The deal follows confidential, off-market freehold sales in Devon of the Blacksmiths Arms at Plymtree and the Old Inn at Hawkchurch off respective guide prices of £560,000 and £545,000.
