Gatwick Airport has completed the redevelopment of its food and beverage operation in the south terminal ahead of the summer exodus.

Gatwick South has increased its range of food options with a relocated and revamped McDonalds, an open-plan Pret A Manger and an Apostrophe café.

A brand new £1.2m JD Wetherspoon pub called the Flying Horse and named after the site’s pre-airport racecourse history and the Bridge Bar have also opened.

Family-friendly restaurant Frankie & Benny’s has also opened at the airport as has milkshake bar Shake-a-Hula.

Head of food and beverage at BAA, Catherine Peachey said it was a “particularly exciting period of development” for Gatwick.

She added: “I am delighted so many fantastic new names from child-friendly restaurants to great bars are now available at Gatwick.”
