Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and Robyn Jones top vocational rich list

Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, Robyn Jones, Delia Smith and Gary Rhodes are the highest placed hospitality industry stars on the latest City & Guilds Vocational Rich List, published today.

The Vocational Rich List tracks the fortunes of businessmen and women who started their career with a vocational qualification or training course and is now in its sixth year.

Of hospitality’s representatives, Michelin-starred Gordon Ramsay comes highest at 50 on the list with a personal fortune of £50m. Snapping at his heels in 55th place is Jamie Oliver, worth £40m at the age of 33.

Robyn Jones, chief executive of contract caterer Charlton House, is 74th on the rich list and worth £20m, while chef and cookery writer Delia Smith comes 85th with a personal fortune of £15m.

Gary Rhodes, who picked up a Michelin star for Rhodes W1, is 92nd on the list with just £10m to his name.

Bob Coates, managing director at City & Guilds, said: “It’s encouraging to see that many of the entrepreneurs who started their careers with a catering qualification continue to flourish.”
